Australia's Leading Exhibition Standard Light Sussex and White Leghorn Breeders.
Twenty years of focused breeding. Four generations of knowledge. If you want birds that can win, or build a program that will, this is where that journey starts.
Bred With Love. Refined Over A Lifetime.
Trevor has loved chickens for as long as he can remember. Growing up in a family that kept chooks, it was never a hobby he had to discover, it was just always there. He started showing at eight years old. That passion never left. It got more serious, more focused, and more refined over the twenty years that followed.
That foundation matters. What looks like a breeding program is actually the result of a lifetime of accumulated observation. You can't shortcut that.
For over 20 years, Trevor has focused on two exhibition breeds: Standard Light Sussex and Standard White Leghorn chickens. Two breeds, pursued with the single-minded discipline that produces results you can actually measure. And the show floor is where we're measured.
- Champion & Reserve Champion Standard Leghorn, Sydney Royal Easter Show 2026.
- Champion & Reserve Champion Sussex, Sydney Royal Easter Show 2025.
- Champion Bird of Show, inaugural Sussex Club of NSW 2025.
- Champion Leghorn & Champion Sussex, Canberra Royal 2025.
Sixteen major awards across five of Australia's most prestigious shows in 2025 and 2026 alone.
What the ribbons don't show is what went into earning them. Decades of trial and error. Breeding decisions that didn't work and had to be unpicked. Every setback made the program better because that's how serious breeding works. You don't arrive at consistent excellence. You build it slowly, honestly, and without shortcuts.
Our birds are among the best exhibition birds available in Australia. That's not a boast, it's a consequence. A bird from our program isn't just a bird. It's the product of everything that came before it.
We don't breed for volume. We breed for quality. And every bird that carries our name has earned it.
Our vision is to elevate poultry breeding to the same professional standard long associated with cattle and stud farms, where careful selection, adherence to Australian breed standards, strong bloodlines, and productive performance define true quality.
Whether you're building a foundation flock or adding to an established breeding program, we offer well-raised birds that reflect our high standards.
Birds are limited each year and they go quickly.

Tier 1
Tier 1 birds represent the pinnacle of our breeding program. These are our most exceptional birds, bred to the highest exhibition standards and selected for their superior quality, type, and presence.
Trev hand-selects every Tier 1 bird personally. Buyers receive a one-on-one consultation with Trevor, along with detailed photographs and video footage, so you can feel confident in your selection.
We supply Tier 1 birds with a Certificate of Registration, including documented parentage and breeding lineage. You'll know exactly what you're getting and where it's come from.
Numbers are extremely limited each year, to protect the standard of this tier.
Tier 2
Tier 2 birds are high-quality exhibition and breeding-standard birds, bred directly from proven exhibition bloodlines. They represent an excellent balance of quality and value, maintaining strong type and genetic integrity.
Trev personally selects each bird, with photographs and video provided so you know exactly what you're getting.
We offer breeding pairs and trios in this tier, well suited to breeders establishing a program or bringing new bloodlines into an existing flock.
Numbers stay limited each year, to protect the standard of this tier.
Tier 3
Tier 3 birds are perfect for anyone beginning their poultry breeding journey, providing strong, reliable starter stock. These birds are bred from excellent quality exhibition stock but may display minor imperfections that make them better suited for use as strong, reliable starter stock rather than the show pen. They maintain the same strong genetic foundation and standard of care as all birds within our program.
Selection is made by The Poodle and the Hen to ensure suitability and soundness. Photographs and videos of your allocated birds will be provided the day before transport.

We sell our exhibition birds once a year. It's not a sales tactic, it's how we protect the standard. When places are filled, they're filled. If you're serious about exhibition-quality Standard Light Sussex or Standard White Leghorn chickens, fill in the form below. We'll reach out to talk through what's available, what's right for where you are in your journey, and whether we're the right fit for each other.
We don't pressure and we don't oversell. If we don't have what you need this season, we'll tell you honestly. We'd rather you wait for the right bird than rush you into the wrong one.
Not after exhibition quality? We also offer well-started Standard Light Sussex and Standard White Leghorn chickens as backyard birds. See our backyard poultry range.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find out about or register interest for future exhibition releases?
Make sure you're on our exhibition poultry waitlist. If your needs or goals change, just complete the form again so we have your most current information.
Can birds be freighted, and how does that work?
Yes. You'll need to arrange your own transport, and we'll meet your chosen transport company at their pickup point.
Who pays for transport?
Transport and freight costs are the buyer's responsibility.
What happens if a bird becomes sick or injured during transport?
Birds travel at the purchaser's risk once they've left our care. We're always happy to offer advice if something goes wrong, but we're not responsible for incidents that occur during transport.
Why is pickup at a designated point rather than on-farm?
To protect both your flock and ours. Our pickup point is in Bargo, NSW.
Can I request a specific bird, sex, or bloodline?
You can't request a specific bird, but if bloodlines are important to your breeding goals, let us know when you register your interest. We'll factor this into how we match birds to buyers.
Can I visit or see the birds before committing?
We don't allow farm visits, as part of our biosecurity management. We'll share photos or videos of your birds before they leave our care, so you'll know exactly what you're getting.
What support do you offer after purchase (advice, follow-up, etc.)?
We're happy to offer occasional support after your purchase, and we love staying in touch with where our birds end up.
Can I get advice on which tier or bird suits my goals?
Yes. If you're not sure which tier is right for you, email us and we can talk it through.
