We breed a variety of well-started backyard poultry on our Southern Highlands farm, available for transport across Australia to suit every flock.
We breed well-started standard backyard poultry on our Southern Highlands farm: Light Sussex, White Leghorn, Australorp, Faverolles, Rhode Island Red, Plymouth Rock, and Silkie chickens, plus Pekin and Muscovy ducks and Emden and Toulouse geese, available periodically throughout the year. Birds are available from day-old chicks through to point of lay, and we work with trusted transport companies to get them to keepers across Australia.

We offer birds at different ages to suit different keeping needs:
Day-old chicks
Available on request. Raising day-old chicks means a warm, controlled brooder setup with a heat source, but it also means you get to raise them from the very start.
Juveniles, pullets and cockerels
Sexed juvenile birds at 8 to 12 weeks, or sexed pullets and cockerels at 12 to 18 weeks. A good option if you want a young bird with guaranteed gender.
Point-of-lay hens and roosters
Hens at 18 or more weeks are close to laying, so you're not waiting long for eggs. Roosters are also available for breeding or as a flock guardian.
How buying from us works
We don't run a shopfront, and we don't hold birds ready to go year-round. Instead, we breed throughout the year and run a waitlist, so we're never promising birds we don't have. Join the waitlist, tell us what you're after, and we'll be in touch as soon as birds are ready.

Transport and pickup
We don't deliver birds ourselves. Local pickup is available from our designated pickup point in Bargo, NSW. For biosecurity reasons, the farm itself isn't open to visitors.

What's the difference between your backyard and exhibition birds?
Backyard quality birds are bred for a great all-round backyard flock. Exhibition quality birds are bred specifically to the Australian Poultry Standards for showing or breeding, and are limited to our Standard Light Sussex and Standard White Leghorn program. Both get the same standard of care.
What ages can I buy birds at?
Day-old chicks, sexed juveniles at 8 to 12 weeks, sexed pullets and cockerels at 12 to 18 weeks, or point-of-lay hens and roosters at 18 or more weeks.
How do I know when birds are available?
Join our waitlist and tell us what you're after. We breed periodically rather than year-round, so we reach out as soon as the birds you want are ready.
Do you deliver chickens Australia-wide?

Do you sell fertile eggs?
No, we don't sell eggs of any kind, fertile or otherwise. We sell chicks, ducklings, goslings, and well-started birds, from day-old through to point of lay.
Are your chickens suitable for beginners?
Yes. Several of our breeds, including Light Sussex, Australorp, and Faverolles, are genuinely well suited to first-time keepers. Each breed page sets out honestly who it suits, since some breeds are a better fit for confident, hands-off keepers than absolute beginners.
How much do backyard chickens cost?
Pricing depends on breed and age, from day-old chicks through to point-of-lay birds. Our current pricing can be viewed here.
Do you breed bantam chickens?
No, we only breed standard-sized birds. If you're after a bantam, a specialist bantam breeder is a better fit.
Do you sell internationally?
No. Australia has strict live export regulations for poultry, so we only sell within Australia.
