We expect these birds to be plaid and good layers. Not all of these cross birds have five toes so if you are looking for a true Faverolles we will have pure breds available later this year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eBred on our \u003cstrong\u003eSouthern Highlands, NSW\u003c\/strong\u003e farm, these chickens are raised on our own feed with room to range and grow properly before they go to a new home. Well-started birds are available periodically throughout the year, from \u003cstrong\u003eday-old chicks\u003c\/strong\u003e through to \u003cstrong\u003epoint of lay\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eDeveloped in the French village the breed is named after, the Faverolles was bred to lay well through winter and hold its own at the table. Hens lay around \u003cstrong\u003ethree to four medium sized, tinted to light brown eggs a week\u003c\/strong\u003e, and keep laying through the colder months better than many breeds manage. They're inquisitive, easy to handle, and genuinely enjoy being around people, which is part of why they're a favourite with \u003cstrong\u003efamilies\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003efirst-time keepers\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThat same easygoing nature means they can be pushed around by bossier breeds, so they do best alongside similarly gentle birds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAvailable stages:\u003c\/strong\u003e Day-old unsexed chicks through to point of lay.
