From us first showing Trevor our old pre-fab coop (it was only 12 months old) that was falling to bits, I knew that asking Poodle & Hen to build us a coop that would last, be safe for our chooks, look good and be a robust structural, would be delivered. I cannot say how grateful we are to poodle & hen for making us snd our chooks the loveliest coop. Poodle snd hen were easy to deal with. Nothing was a drama. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough. I would suggest anyone thinking of getting a coop, invest a bit more money in a solid coop that will last. Don’t buy the plywood version that will not withstand weather. We wasted quite a lot of money getting a bad coop, had to get it built snd it was rubbish materials.

Trevor nailed our brief by creating an accessible chicken coop ensuring that every child in our inclusive schools is able to access each part of the chicken coop. The position of overall design of the space allows for the chickens to be part of our school community for our students to enjoy and learn from.

The girls absolutely love it, as soon as they’re let out of the coop in the mornings, they’re straight into it! Their enthusiasm each morning, speaks volumes! They started laying from about week 20 (late Jan) and have been consistently laying for us to this day (we’re now the last week of June!)
